Connectives

I walked to the dairy and bought  magazines. I also purchased water and biscuits. I went to the train station and waited.  Meanwhile the train was late. I was just starting to get impatient when it arrived. I went home on the train. I was so thirsty I drank my bottle of water on the train. After I finished my water I walked home. I searched for my magazine in my bag at home and it wasn’t there. I had left it at the shop. I had to catch the same train again and walk all the way back to the shop. I bought a new magazine to compensate for my lost one. I then had to catch a train and walk all the way back home. For just a magazine I realized that my adventure wasn’t really worth the trouble!

This is my groups Connectives story.

3D hand art

This is my 3D hand art. We first had to trace our hand. When we had traced it we then made lines, curving them when they reached the hand we then went over the lines with vivid, not tracing the hand. We then coloured our hands in, using a repeating pattern. The pattern was supposed to make it pop out but instead mine camouflaged, fading into the background. This is my finished product.

Recount

CRUNCH! I fell out of a tree and broke my arm. Last year at Mt Wellington we was climbing a tree. I was there for a scouts meeting where we were going to climb to the top and have a barbecue. My brothers and I climbed to the top when I slipped. The worst part was that I did not get a cast until midnight. Because of my cast I could not go sailing on a cutter when I had paid with my pocket money. That was the worst day of my life.

The catastrophe started on a cold Wednesday night. I arrived at Mt Wellington with my Dad and my brothers. We were early so we decided to climb a tree. What happened next was like slow motion. One second I was on the tree a second later and I was free falling and then WHAM! I smacked my arm against a stone. Surprisingly, my arm didn't hurt at all. It had just gone numb from the forearm down. It was so numb it was like it was as frozen as the meat in the freezers at countdown. I couldn't move it to do what I wanted it to. It felt like I only had half of my left arm. I thought “At least I get a cool looking cast.”

Finally  the others arrived. My arm didn't hurt so I didn't complain. I just thought that I had just hurt my arm. I never suspected that it was broken! We climbed to the top of the hill had a barbecue and went back down. It was only when I got home it started hurting. My Dad started to drive me to hospital.

When I finally got to hospital I had to wait for a long time while my Dad filled out my details and answered about a million questions. After nearly an hour the questioning was over I had to walk all the way down the stairs to the X-ray machine. The man there told me to prop my arm up on flat surfaces to get the different angles of the break. He said we had to walk up the stairs to the room where I would get my cast.

When we arrived, They asked me what colour I wanted. I chose blue because it is my favourite colour. They put some cloth all the way up my arm. They then put cotton on to make it softer and finally soaked something blue and wrapped my arm. When I left my arm weighed a ton!

Luckily, I got a sling to put my cast in this thankfully made it seem weightless. Unfortunately, it was dripping all over me because it was still wet. To make matters worse I was wearing school uniform! My Mum was going to kill me!

When they took my cast off I realized I had lost heaps of sailing time when I had already paid. Even because of this incident I haven’t learned my lesson. I still climb trees and never even think about it twice!

Name drawings

Take a look at this picture.
Now turn it 90 degrees. If you look at it sideways it spells a name. My class had to make these pictures using our names. These are used in our class treaty.

Room 6 2015

This is a brand new year for me. I have moved from room 5 to room 6. I am excited and ready to learn new things. I think I will like being in room 6 as it will be challenging. I hope that I do not make too many mistakes. My main goal or aim is to improve in all areas of learning.
