TRUMP poster

This is Manu's, Sylis', Juanita's, Mishaan's and my poster on TRUMP. TRUMP stands for Thinking, Relating to others, Understanding language symbols and text, Managing self and Participating and Contributing. We wrote down some ways that we show these at school. The pictures show what we                                                                     think this looks like.

Letter to Term 4 self

Dear Term 4 Thomas,

When you read this, you will have finished your year being the oldest in the school and be getting ready for college. I wonder which college Mum and Dad enrolled you in. I hope it’s a good one. Did you listen to the teachers for tips and help on how to improve your writing? Did you write for at least 15 minutes a day? Did you ever write 500 words of a story in 15 minutes? I just did the math and it turns out you need one word every 1.8 seconds! Maybe 400 words in 15 minutes. That’s still 2.25 seconds per word though. Anyway, did you check the Rubric when you were writing? Did it help you to improve? Also, the one I’m waiting for: Did you achieve the goal of getting Dux at prize giving?

Have a great last year with your friends,
Term 1 Thomas

This is my letter to myself in Term 4 this year. I am asking myself if I have done all the goals that I am setting for myself in this letter. It has 3 points: Asking myself if I have improved my writing, if I have written 400 words in 15 minutes and if I got the Dux at prize giving.

Stretching Sentences

This is Reon's, Jane's and my presentation on how to stretch your sentences. We started with: The boy swam and finished with: As the sun set the Boy swam desperately towards the shore, trying to escape the dark shape that was slowly gaining on him.

Blog reflection

My reflection on 2016 so far:
So far I am thoroughly enjoying 2016. The best part of the year so far was meeting up with my friends from last year, even if the year 8's have gone to college. I have also been coping quite well with the responsibility that you receive when you are the oldest in your school (Yr8's for PBS). Another highlight is the new classrooms. We get to be in LS2 (Learning Space 2) and it has a lot of space meaning we can move around and sit wherever we want to, unlike the other classrooms which are small. It also has a balcony, meaning that being on the first floor gives you a great view of the school and fields. The only downside is the furniture. So far all we have in LS2 is half of the furniture, which means there isn't much to sit on apart from the floor and a few chairs at a few tables. Mrs Anderson says that we should get more soon, but it's still boring to sit on the floor.

I am looking forward to a great year.

LS2's Favourite Book Graph

This is Harry's and my graph on LS2's favourite book graph. The question we asked was: What is your favourite type of book? The favourite is comics with 13 and the least favourite is biography with 1. In this we only asked 39 of 52 people in LS2 what their favourite book type was, so maybe if we had had enough time we would see different results than these ones.
