For this activity I had to think of all of the books I have read this year and recommended one of them for Curious Kiwi. I have chosen to recommend to Curious Kiwi The Hobbit written by J.R.R Tolkien, which is about Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit who doesn't like adventure, who gets visited by Gandalf and some Dwarves and eventually helps them take back a Dwarven castle.

Hi Thomas - this is a really good recommendation for Curious Kiwi. He likes adventure books and would likely find that The Hobbit was both entertaining and challenging to read. It's great to pick up a book that really challenges us and keeps us engaged, isn't it? I recently read The Hobbit for myself and saw The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey movie. I quite liked it. Have you seen it by any chance? If so, did you like it?
I hope that you're able to write back when you have a minute. I'd really love to know what your thoughts are about The Hobbit movie.
Until then, take care!
Rachel
Hi Thomas,
What a great book recommendation for Curious Kiwi! Being as curious as he is, I'm sure he would love to read adventure stories like the one you've picked.
Did you enjoy reading The Hobbit? If you did, what was your favourite part? It's a challenging book to read at times, but I liked it because of how much I was able to use my imagination when I was reading it. I think this book would be perfect for the flight to Germany. It's a long flight, so you'll need something that will last the whole journey!
I think there are a few similarities between you and Bilbo in your learning journey. Both of you are writing about an 'unexpected journey' you are going on... Although I hope yours isn't as dangerous as Bilbo's was!
Nāku noa,
Dan.
Hey Thomas
The hobbit is one of my favorite books. I like how Bilbo is kind of forced to help the dwarves. Keep up the amazing blogging!
