Summer Learning Journey Week 1 Day 2 Activity 1

For this activity I have to find out some facts on the country I have chosen, which is Germany. The name of the capital city is Berlin, the Population of Berlin is 3.5 million people, in Berlin the weather is usually cold in January, Berlin is located in the North East (top right) of Germany and the languages mostly spoken in Berlin are German, English, and Russian.

Kia ora Thomas,

Whenever I'm travelling somewhere new I like to find out as much as I can about the place, so well done on finding all of these Berlin facts.

Sounds like Berlin will be a very busy and interesting place! If the weather is going to be cold, make sure you pack lots of woolly jumpers for your trip.

Because so many countries in Europe are surrounded by lots of other countries, it's very common for the people who live there to speak several different languages. How cool is that? Can you speak any other languages Thomas?

At the moment Germany has been helping some of the other countries nearby by taking taking in thousands of refugees who need a safe place to live. I think this shows that Germany is a very friendly, welcoming and multicultural country, so no doubt you will have a great time travelling there!

Nāku noa,
Dan.
