Winter Learning Journey Day 1 Bonus

For this activity we had to choose wether it was fair that women were not allowed to compete and also not allowed to watch the olympic games in ancient Greece. I think it is unfair because one of the best NZ athletes is a woman (Valerie Adams).

Hello Thomas, that is really great point. Using Valerie Adams is a great example on why women and men should be equal.

Hi Thomas
You have given good reasons why it isn't fair to let women compete in the Olympics. I think you given a good reasons why because you backed up your reasons by writing " I think it is unfair because on of the best NZ athletes is a women (Valerire Adams).

Great Job

Hi Thomas :)

I think that you have made a very good point in your blog about the fairness of Olympic game selection. I, too, believe that it is unfair to forbid women from participating in the ancient games and am very happy to see that our modern day Olympic committee has allowed both men and women to participate as equals.

As you've stated, Valerie Adams is a top athlete and very much deserving of the opportunity to compete for her country at the largest and most prestigious athletics event in the world (the Olympics).

Speaking of Valerie and the Olympic Games, will you have the opportunity to watch the Rio Olympics on TV this August? I am really hoping to have time to watch Valerie compete. She is such an amazon!

Keep up the great work, Thomas. Your blogs are a joy to read!

Cheers, Rachel
