Summer Learning Journey: Week 2, Day 6, Activity 1

For this activity I had to compare some breakfast foods from one country with the breakfast foods in NZ. I chose to compare with England.

Some English people have crumpets and tea while we have Weet-bix or other cereals. They are actually quite different than each other, but they still look delicious and I would definitely eat them for breakfast.

Hi Thomas!

I can highly recommend crumpets for breakfast. They are utterly delicious, especially if you cover them in maple syrup or jam. Do you like maple syrup?

Being Canadian, I grew up with maple syrup. We ate it on our pancakes, french toast, crumpets and even on bacon!

I really thought that everyone was the same and that they all had maple syrup on their breakfast foods until I moved to England in 2007 and realised that my English friends preferred to have golden syrup on their crumpets. Either way, I think that crumpets are truly amazing and I'd really encourage you to give them a try!

Bon appetite :)

Rachel
